Cleaners Dulwich Service Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Cleaners Dulwich provides cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. By making a booking, you agree to be bound by these terms, which form a binding agreement between you and Cleaners Dulwich for the provision of services within our operating areas.
1. Definitions and Interpretation
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below.
Customer means the individual, company or organisation that requests or receives cleaning services from Cleaners Dulwich.
Services means any cleaning or related service provided by Cleaners Dulwich, including but not limited to regular domestic cleaning, end of tenancy cleaning, one-off deep cleaning, office cleaning, and related tasks agreed at the time of booking.
Premises means the property or properties at which the Services are to be carried out.
Cleaner means any employee, worker, or subcontractor engaged by Cleaners Dulwich to provide the Services.
Agreement means the contract between the Customer and Cleaners Dulwich, consisting of these Terms and Conditions and the specific details of the booking.
2. Scope of Services
Cleaners Dulwich provides cleaning services in designated service areas. The specific tasks to be performed, frequency of visits, and any special instructions will be agreed with the Customer at the time of booking and confirmed before work commences.
Unless expressly agreed in writing, Services do not include the following.
Specialist cleaning such as exterior window cleaning above ground floor level, hazardous cleaning, or work requiring specialised equipment or licences.
Cleaning of items or areas that are unsafe, inaccessible, or at risk of damage, including broken fixtures or unstable surfaces.
Removal of heavy furniture, lifting or moving of bulky items, or any activity that may pose a health and safety risk to the Cleaner.
Cleaners Dulwich reserves the right to amend the scope of Services where necessary for health and safety reasons or where the condition of the Premises is significantly different from that described at the time of booking.
3. Booking Process
Bookings can be made through our approved booking channels. At the time of booking, the Customer must provide accurate information including property type, approximate size, number of rooms, and any specific requirements.
All bookings are subject to availability. Cleaners Dulwich will confirm acceptance of a booking and provide the scheduled date and time for the visit.
The Customer must ensure that access to the Premises is available at the agreed time. This may be by the Customer being present, by provision of keys, or by other agreed arrangements. Where keys are provided, they will be securely stored and used solely for the purpose of providing the Services.
Recurring bookings will continue on the agreed schedule until cancelled in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Any change to the scheduled day, time, or frequency is subject to availability and must be agreed with Cleaners Dulwich in advance.
4. Customer Obligations
The Customer agrees to.
Provide safe and adequate access to the Premises at the scheduled time, including any necessary parking or entry instructions.
Ensure the Premises has running water, electricity, and reasonable lighting and heating, as required for the performance of the Services.
Inform Cleaners Dulwich in advance of any hazards, fragile items, or areas that require special care or that should not be cleaned.
Secure and remove any cash, valuables, or personal items of particular significance. Cleaners Dulwich does not accept responsibility for loss of money or valuables left unsecured at the Premises.
Where pets are present, ensure that they are appropriately secured and do not prevent or hinder the performance of the Services.
5. Pricing and Payments
Prices for Services will be provided to the Customer at the time of booking based on the information supplied. Prices may be based on hourly rates, fixed service packages, or a combination of both.
Cleaners Dulwich reserves the right to adjust the quoted price if the information provided by the Customer was inaccurate or incomplete, or if the actual condition or size of the Premises requires additional time or resources. Any adjustment will be discussed with the Customer before additional charges are incurred where practicable.
Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due on completion of the Services or in advance of the scheduled appointment. For recurring services, payments may be taken on a regular schedule as agreed with the Customer.
Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at the time of booking and may include card payments, bank transfers, or other cashless methods. Payment terms for commercial or account Customers may be set out in a separate agreement; where no separate terms are agreed, payment is due within seven days of invoice date.
Cleaners Dulwich reserves the right to charge interest on overdue amounts at a reasonable rate from the due date until the date of actual payment, and to suspend further Services until all outstanding sums are paid in full.
6. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Access
The Customer may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving at least 24 hours notice before the scheduled start time. Where sufficient notice is given, no cancellation fee will apply.
Where a booking is cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice, Cleaners Dulwich may charge a cancellation fee up to the value of the minimum service charge for the scheduled visit, to cover administration and loss of booking.
If the Cleaner is unable to gain access to the Premises at the scheduled time, or if the visit cannot proceed due to circumstances within the Customer's control, this will be treated as a late cancellation and a fee may be applied.
Cleaners Dulwich may cancel or reschedule a booking due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including sickness, extreme weather, transport disruption, or other force majeure events. In such cases, the Customer will be offered an alternative appointment. Cleaners Dulwich will not be liable for any indirect losses arising from such cancellation or rescheduling.
7. Service Quality and Complaints
Cleaners Dulwich aims to provide Services with reasonable skill and care. If the Customer is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, they should raise the issue as soon as possible, and in any event within 24 hours of completion of the visit.
Where a complaint is justified and relates directly to the quality of the cleaning, Cleaners Dulwich may, at its discretion, offer a re-clean of the affected areas or a reasonable partial refund. Access to the Premises must be granted for any re-clean to be carried out.
No refund or re-clean will be offered where the complaint relates to issues outside the agreed scope of work, where the Premises was in an unsafe condition, or where the Customer has not provided the necessary access or facilities for the Services to be performed correctly.
8. Health, Safety and Conduct
Cleaners Dulwich is committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety. Cleaners are instructed not to undertake any activities that may put them or others at risk of harm.
Cleaners will not use bleach or other particularly hazardous substances unless agreed and suitable for the surfaces to be treated. The Customer must notify Cleaners Dulwich of any known allergies or sensitivities to commonly used cleaning products.
Cleaners Dulwich reserves the right to withdraw its Cleaner from the Premises if they encounter abusive, threatening, or unsafe behaviour, or if conditions at the Premises pose a risk to health and safety. In such cases, the visit may be deemed completed and full charges may apply.
9. Liability and Insurance
Cleaners Dulwich will exercise reasonable skill and care in providing the Services and will maintain appropriate insurance cover for public liability and, where applicable, employer liability.
Cleaners Dulwich will not be liable for.
Normal wear and tear, or deterioration of items or surfaces that are already damaged, improperly maintained, or inherently fragile.
Damage arising from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the Customer, including undisclosed defects or special requirements for particular surfaces or materials.
Any loss of profit, loss of business, or any indirect or consequential loss arising out of or in connection with the provision of the Services.
If Cleaners Dulwich is found liable for any damage to the Customer's property, such liability will be limited to the reasonable cost of repair or replacement, subject to a fair assessment and not exceeding the amount recoverable under the relevant insurance policy.
The Customer must notify Cleaners Dulwich of any damage or loss alleged to have been caused by the Cleaner as soon as reasonably possible, and in any event within 24 hours of completion of the visit, to allow proper investigation.
10. Waste Handling and Environmental Responsibilities
Cleaners Dulwich will comply with applicable waste and environmental regulations when handling waste arising from the provision of the Services.
Unless otherwise agreed, household waste and rubbish generated during cleaning will be placed in the Customer's designated bins at the Premises. The Customer is responsible for arranging regular refuse collection through the appropriate local authority or service provider.
Cleaners Dulwich does not provide bulk waste removal or disposal of hazardous materials such as chemicals, paints, solvents, asbestos, or clinical waste. If such materials are present, the Cleaner may refuse to handle them and may adjust the scope of the Services accordingly.
Where a separate arrangement is made for removal of non-hazardous waste, this will be specified at the time of booking and may be subject to additional charges and conditions in accordance with applicable regulations.
11. Keys, Security and Privacy
Where the Customer provides keys or access codes, Cleaners Dulwich will take reasonable care to safeguard them and to maintain the security of the Premises.
Keys will be labelled in a way that does not identify the full address of the Premises. Access codes, alarm details, or other security information will be treated as confidential and used only for the purpose of providing the Services.
Cleaners Dulwich will handle personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws and will only collect and use information necessary to manage bookings, provide Services, and handle payments and customer service.
12. Property Condition and Limitations
The Customer acknowledges that the effectiveness of cleaning is influenced by the initial condition of the Premises, the age and state of carpets, fixtures and fittings, and any long-standing stains or damage.
Cleaners Dulwich does not guarantee the removal of all stains or marks, particularly where they are old, set-in, or associated with materials or substances that may permanently affect surfaces.
Cleaners are not authorised to carry out building repairs, electrical work, plumbing, or any services outside the scope of general cleaning. Any such tasks remain the responsibility of the Customer.
13. Termination of Ongoing Services
Either party may terminate a recurring service arrangement by giving at least seven days written notice, unless a different notice period is expressly agreed in writing.
Cleaners Dulwich may terminate the Agreement with immediate effect where the Customer fails to pay sums due, repeatedly cancels or reschedules at short notice, behaves in an abusive or threatening manner towards staff, or otherwise materially breaches these Terms and Conditions.
On termination, the Customer will remain liable for all sums properly due for Services already provided.
14. Changes to Terms and Conditions
Cleaners Dulwich may amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in the law, regulatory requirements, or operational practices. Updated terms will be made available and will apply to new bookings and, where appropriate, to ongoing services after reasonable notice is given to the Customer.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions, the Agreement, or the provision of the Services.
16. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be deemed deleted and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
No failure or delay by Cleaners Dulwich in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall constitute a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.
The Agreement is between Cleaners Dulwich and the Customer. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms.
These Terms and Conditions, together with the details of the booking, constitute the entire agreement between the parties in relation to the provision of the Services and supersede any previous agreements, understandings or arrangements.
